Double twisted woven gabion Steel wire is mechanically twisted into a hexagonal mesh metal mesh (similar to DNA double helix structure) and assembled into a rectangular gabion box, also known as Double Twist Hexagonal Mesh Gabion. the structure is more compact, with significant tensile strength and deformation resistance.

Steel wire is usually galvanized (Galfan or Zinc Aluminum alloy), PVC coated and other processes, with a corrosion resistance life of more than 50 years, suitable for harsh environments such as acid and alkali, salt spray, etc.

  • Galvanized steel wire (electroplated/hot-dip galvanized)
    • Galvanized: The zinc layer is relatively thin (about 20-50g/m ²), with average corrosion resistance, suitable for dry environments..
    • Tall Hot dip galvanizing: The zinc layer is thick (above 200-300g/m ²), with strong anti-corrosion properties, and is a commonly used material suitable for ordinary water conservancy and slope protection projects.
  • Galfan steel wire (zinc aluminum alloy rare earth element)
    • The zinc aluminum alloy coating containing 5% or 10% aluminum has a corrosion resistance 2-3 times that of hot-dip galvanizing, is resistant to salt spray corrosion, and is suitable for coastal or highly polluted environments.
    • Divided into two types: 5% aluminum zinc alloy and 10% aluminum zinc alloy.
  • PVC/PE coated steel wire
    • Wrap a layer of PVC or PE plastic around galvanized or high proof steel wire, with dual anti-corrosion and customizable colors (such as green, gray, etc.).
    • Suitable for landscape engineering or scenes with high aesthetic requirements.
  • Stainless steel wire
    • 304 or 316L stainless steel has strong corrosion resistance but high cost, and is often used in extreme environments such as seawater and chemical areas.

      • Height: 0.5~1m
    • Purpose:
      • Scenarios such as retaining walls, river bank protection, and embankment reinforcement that require significant lateral pressure.
      • Fill large stone blocks (100-300mm) with strong permeability.
    • Features:
      • Modular design facilitates stacking into multi-layer structures.
      • Layered filling and binding connections are required during construction.
  • gabion mattress:Also known as reno mattress Low and flat net cage structure, shaped like a 'cushion',typically 0.15-0.3m in height (much lower than gabion box).
    • Size Range:
      • Length: 3-6m
      • Width: 1-2m
      • Height: 0.17m, 0.23m, 0.3m (common)
    • Purpose:
      • Large scale shallow covering projects such as riverbed protection, slope surface protection, and channel lining.
      • Ecological restoration (filling with small-sized stone materials+covering with soil and vegetation).
    • Features:
      • Lightweight, easy to lay, and adaptable to terrain undulations.
      • It needs to be used in combination with stone cage cages (such as box shaped stone cages as the foundation, with protective pads covering the slope).
  • sack gabions:Also called gabion mesh bag composed of a single heavy-duty hexagonal mesh panel, it is used for emergency and river regulation projects, where quick installation is required or easy access to the site is not allowed, as well as in places where underwater installation is required.
    • Appearance: Flexible bag like structure, no fixed shape, can be stacked freely..

    • Purpose:
      • Emergency flood control (rapid filling of sand and gravel to seal leaks).
      • Temporary slope protection, erosion protection and other short-term projects.
    • Features:
      • Flexible construction, but poor durability, often used for temporary projects.
      • Usually, single stranded woven mesh is used, which has a lower cost.
